Edward (Ed) Frank, the founding father of Raise'D Right Drilling Solutions Ltd., enjoyed a long and storied career with a leading global mining equipment manufacturer.

Being stationed in several locations from coast to coast in Canada and West Africa, Ed acquired key skills and specialized technical knowledge as he progressed in a series of marketing, technical and management roles. Ed describes that formative time in his career as an adventure rather that a job. Nearing the end of his employment, Ed took the decision to create Raise'D Right Drilling Solutions Ltd.

Rather than keep his vast wealth of knowledge and expertise across the full spectrum of rock drilling to himself, Ed wanted to create an entity to enable him to utilize his expertise to introduce new technologies and assist clients across the globe in improving their performance and becoming more efficient.

The company's goal is to provide the latest in drilling technology with superior service, training and performance measurement, creating more sustainable and efficient operations. Ed was convinced that innovation, technology and implementation of best practices would bring the added benefits of improved safety and working conditions, and reduced impacts on the environment and the climate.

Research and Development

Jaime Aros is a renowned engineer in the field of rock drilling, boasting over twenty-eight years of experience. He earned his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and a master’s degree in industrial engineering from one of South America's most prestigious universities.

Throughout his career, Jaime has held various pivotal roles such as Research & Development Manager, Innovation Manager, and Engineering Manager. He has also lent his expertise through consulting services and has designed cutting-edge drilling tools for companies across Canada, the US, and South America. His designs continue to be utilized in a wide array of applications, including reverse circulation drilling, blasthole production drilling, water resource exploitation, and energy sector projects such as geothermal and oil & gas exploration. Additionally, his contributions extend to civil infrastructure development and raise drilling.

Jaime's innovative work has resulted in over eight patents in the US and abroad, focusing on enhancing percussive rock drilling technologies for increased simplicity, durability, and productivity. His dedication to sharing knowledge and advancing drilling techniques has been central to his professional mission.

In 2014, Jaime founded Boretek, a company dedicated to advancing his Solid Piston Technology (SPT) and other rock drilling innovations. The SPT has garnered attention as a potential game-changer within the industry. In 2023, Jaime met Ed Frank, who recognized the transformative potential of SPT. A year later, Ed and Jaime joined forces, combining their synergistic knowledge and experience to establish Raise'D Right Drilling Solutions Ltd., a venture aimed at further developing and marketing the Solid Piston Technology.
